Do pashtuns take offense to non pashtuns learning the language?

Why would we? On the contrary we love it, when people from non pashtun background speak to us in our language.

Well, I've had experience with some people who get angry if you learn their languages. I knew a guy who was learning Japanese and he offended people in Little Tokyo when he tried to speak to them in Japanese. They called him an outsider and offensive.

As far as I know, no pashtun would be angry at you learning it. Some may laugh here and there at the mistakes, but nothing malicious.

Ah, well good. I certainly do want to learn a few languages. I'm more interested in the languages people don't discuss much, in the US anyway. Everyone goes and learns Spanish and French here.
